I used to think that colonic hydrotherapy was for rich, vain women who had nothing better to do with their money – but then I became ill with chronic fatigue syndrome and needed help. Prior to becoming ill I had been an active, sporty person but my illness meant I spent much of my day sleeping and I was too tired to work. Conventional medicine offered no help or guidance so, after reading on the internet that colonic hydrotherapy could assist sufferers of CFS I decided to see if it could help me.
At my first appointment Caroline considered the questionnaire I had completed and made useful recommendations about my diet. She explained the process and was reassuring and professional throughout. Much to my surprise the experience was not at all unpleasant. By the time I had my third appointment (approx 3 weeks later) I had recovered sufficient energy to be back at work full time. Now that I’ve had my sixth treatment I feel and look so much better.
Numerous people have commented at how ill I looked just a short while ago and how well I now look – and, most importantly, I feel healthy. I cannot recommend Ultimate Balance enough; Caroline has given me back my energy – Thank you.

I considered (colon hydrotherapy) treatment due to recent TV and press coverage and thought I would give it a go. My first treatment at the Ultimate Balance clinic was very comfortable and the treatment was nothing like a “nightmare” as many people warned me it would be. I would go as far as saying that it was an enjoyable experience and one that I will recommend! The experience was tailored well to the individual and done in a very relaxed and friendly way. I now feel revitalised and ready to tackle my symptoms head on!

I was drawn to colon therapy because of recent health programmes and healthy eating publications. It is so easy to slip into a unhealthy lifestyle with convenience foods and social drinking. My initial visit to the Ultimate Balance clinic was very informative and the surroundings are very calm and tranquil. Any initial unease was soon put to rest as the procedure and equipment was thoroughly explained in a way that I could truly understand. There were no nasty surprises! My treatments have been thoroughly worthwhile and totally cleansing and uplifting.
I now take more care with my diet and water intake and feel a whole lot better in myself with more energy and vitality. I would recommend this treatment to anyone with a sluggish digestive system or a general feeling of tiredness. Actually I think in today’s environment generally everyone could benefit from colon therapy it is so good at making you feel healthy and giving my skin a healthy glow.

I had been thinking about having this kind of treatment for a while and when my friend said she had been for a treatment at Ultimate Balance and how good it was, I decided to give it a try. It was much nicer than I had thought and the therapist was easy to talk to and puts you at ease. I have only had one treatment so far but will definitely be going back for more.

I had suffered with constipation for as long as I can remember, despite eating a healthy diet and taking regular exercise. I used to eat a bowl of All Bran every morning and even take laxatives to ease the situation. I also suffered from severe painful bloating and excess wind. Sometimes it was so bad it looked as if I was nine months pregnant.
One day I was thumbing through the "You Are What You Eat" magazine when the advert for the Ultimate Balance clinic seemed to leap out at me. Although the very idea of colon hydrotherapy did not really appeal, I thought I would ring anyway. Ken was really helpful on the phone and I felt comfortable asking him numerous questions. I made the first appointment to see Caroline. I was asked to download a medical questionnaire from the Ultimate Balance website and send it along to the clinic. I also downloaded advice about what foods to eat or avoid immediately before and after the treatment.
When I arrived at the clinic, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and professional everything looked. I was welcomed by Ken and made to feel totally at ease, soft music playing in the background. When I was called through by Caroline I was feeling a little nervous but she made me feel totally at ease. She read through my completed questionnaire and explained the procedure thoroughly. The treatment itself was totally painless and comfortable. All I had to do was completely relax and chat to Caroline. At the end of my first treatment Caroline recommended that I should have a course of six treatments.
I have been absolutely thrilled with everything. I have followed Caroline's advice about which foods to avoid (80% of the time) and have never been constipated since. I now go to the loo every day, sometimes even twice. Very occasionally I get a bloated tummy but usually when I eat foods which I now know will trigger it. I cannot recommend this treatment highly enough. Incidentally: I have never touched a bowl of All Bran since!

I was recommended to consider colonic hydrotherapy treatments by a friend who said they had helped her with her IBS symptoms. As someone who has suffered with IBS and generally poor digestion over the years – brought about through major stress and some generic history, I was very interested. I had been to see a nutritionist who had helped me to review my diet and test any allergies or intolerances but I was still a long way off feeling great.
I telephoned Ultimate Balance to ask them if I could make an appointment and their professional and friendly help ensured that when I arrived, I felt comfortable and positive. All my questions were answered and many points I had not even considered were covered so that I felt that I was in safe hands. After our initial consultation where we discussed my issues and diet, I was told what would happen next in such a straight forward and easy manner that I really didn’t feel embarrassed or worried. The whole process was carried out with every attention to my privacy and comfort. The consultant was enthusiastic and professional and one couldn’t help but become highly interested in everything that was going on!
We discovered new imbalances that I had within me that we could address and eliminate and I was incredibly happy that I was finally sorting out a long term problem. My second treatment was even more successful and each time I left my digestion improved – I am looking forward to continuing with this so that my IBS is controlled, my digestion made more efficient and if I can end up with skin like the Consultant, then I will be very happy! I recommend colonic hydrotherapy to anyone who needs to wake up their colon but make sure you go to a reputable establishment like Ultimate Balance!

I though colon hydrotherapy would be beneficial. I am healthy with no bowel related problems but I thought it would be a great way to start a healthy living plan! I was very nervous at my first treatment – but I was treated excellently and I really enjoyed the whole experience! I would recommend the “Ultimate Balance experience” to anyone.

Having suffered from constipation for many years, colon hydrotherapy had always interested me and I was keen to know if it would be beneficial. I would probably still be wondering had I no had a recommendation to the Ultimate Balance clinic in Theale! The entire experience at the clinic exceeded my expectations. Having bowel problems is obviously a very personal and sensitive subject to discuss but my consultation with Caroline was excellent. She was very friendly and professional and so relaxed and easy to talk to and at no time did I feel embarrassed. I have had two sessions so far, and have a third one booked and I can honestly say that the treatment has been beneficial. I would absolutely have no doubts about recommending the Ultimate Balance clinic.

I first considered treatment after reading about it in a Sunday Newspaper. I had looked at other clinics further a field than Theale but then found the Ultimate Balance website. Right from the start I had good feelings about Ultimate Balance. I was rather apprehensive and embarrassed on my first visit (consultation) but Caroline soon put me at ease with her friendly, down to earth manner. She explained exactly what the treatment is all about and why it is beneficial to health. I found her very professional with a high degree of empathy.
I was also impressed with how patient and caring Caroline was with me and that without doubt encouraged me to take a course of 6 treatments. The process is one that is very personal and I cannot stress enough just how comfortable with it Caroline encouraged me to feel. Both my partner, Liz and I took to Caroline immediately and we have both benefited enormously from our treatments. I will certainly be booking more treatments in the future. Thank you Ultimate Balance.

Having suffered for a considerable period from the effects of poor colonic motion I was referred to Ultimate Balance. I was amazed with the care and friendliness in which my treatment was handled. I would gladly recommend Ultimate Balance to assist in resolving many of the maladies of modern living.

I decided to try colon hydrotherapy because of severe constipation problems following spinal surgery. After two years of various trips to hospitals for tests including a sigmoidoscopy (which revealed no abnormality), and swallowing endless amounts of lactulose I thought I would try a more natural approach. The thought of warm water being used as a cleansing agent seemed infinitely more appealing than the chemicals used in the enemas I had also been told to use!
It took me a while to pluck up the courage to ring the Ultimate Balance clinic but I’m glad I did. Ken took my call and explained the procedure thoroughly and booked my first appointment for me. I had read the website beforehand to get as much information as possible.
I was a little apprehensive but I thought it couldn’t be as bad as some of the hospital procedures I had gone through over the years. I needn’t have worried as Caroline was lovely and sensitive to my individual case. She read my (medical) questionnaire and went through it with me and explained carefully about the treatment. I immediately felt at ease with her and felt that nothing was too much trouble.
The clinic is beautifully decorated and the décor relaxing. Everything is extremely hygienic and efficiently run with state of the art equipment. Although the colonics have not cured my problem they have helped and certainly given me a psychological boost knowing that a lot of cumulated toxic build up has been eliminated. will certainly continue to visit Ultimate Balance for more sessions and would not hesitate to recommend Caroline and the clinic to anyone interested in this type of therapy.

I had acne and bloating in my stomach and I felt that colon hydrotherapy would clear out a lot of toxins that had been around a while! I felt very at ease on my first visit to Ultimate Balance. The visits were very relaxing and the clinic is very nice. Very clean and hygienic and a soothing environment. Caroline is an excellent therapist and very knowledgeable and makes you feel very relaxed.
She takes a personal interest in you and does everything possible to make you feel at ease while explaining step by step the (colon) hydrotherapy process. I feel better in myself and have lost some weight. My stomach is not so bloated and I have less wind! I feel I had great success with my treatments and feel so much better now that I don’t get stomach aches and discomfort anymore. The whole process was very discreet and Caroline was so lovely throughout. I will definitely recommend Ultimate Balance to people!

Having had problems my entire adult life and being diagnosed with IBS in my late 20s, I have always been interested in this therapy. About 4 years ago I decided to take a look on the web. The only place that carried out any sort of therapy was based in London. One also had to take into consideration that I was very uncertain as to whom to trust, as no one I knew had had any treatment of this kind. So it was left and that was that really. Until Ultimate Balance.
I jumped at the chance of being able to have this therapy locally. Although I knew what to expect, I was still a little nervous on my first visit. However, this was all unfounded, as I was made to feel very comfortable and relaxed. I am already feeling a lot better, my skin is clearer and the dark rings under my eyes are reducing too. I was most surprised to hear that my friends actually noticed a difference, and they didn’t know at the time that I was having therapy.

I wanted to improve my general wellbeing and have had colonic regularly for several years, so when I found Ultimate Balance I was used to having colonics. I have found they have great benefits and Caroline is an excellent therapist, one of the best I have been to.

I had been feeling sluggish for a while and had come across the Ultimate Balance advertisement in a local paper. I wanted to give Colon Hydrotherapy a try to see if it would enable me to feel any better. When I arrived at the clinic the first thing I had noticed was how calm I felt from even entering the clinic. There was relaxing music playing along with cream walls and a contemporary look. The treatment was excellent; I have to say I was a bit nervous at first thinking it may hurt.
This reservation was quickly expelled as I just felt comfortable and relaxed all through my treatment, I really felt that the therapist knew precisely what she was doing and that I didn’t need to worry in the slightest. After the treatment I felt great! Over the next few days I felt lighter, more energetic and overall a feeling of wellbeing and this was my first treatment! I recommend it to everyone, it really is so beneficial.

Having suffered for too many years from depression, along with various states of tiredness, lethargy, lack of energy and general feelings of "not being very well", I realised at the grand old age of 40-something that pills and potions were not necessarily the answer, and perhaps it was better to consider removing the cause rather than treating the symptoms.
Yes, there were potentially several causes, but I firmly believed that many could be put down to a far from perfect lifestyle, coupled with poor eating habits (and yes, drinking habits as well). I saw the blurb on colonic irrigation (but like the term hydro-therapy much better), saw it again, then actually read it, and decided that colonic hydrotherapy, coupled with a change in lifestyle and habits, whilst not maybe the ultimate cure could certainly go a long way to improving my overall health.
And so it was with some trepidation that I casually programmed in the clinic’s number whilst hoping that no passers-by would see what I was looking at to get the number (in this case, the information/advertising board outside the clinic). The number stayed in the phone for a week or six before I made the initial call and booked an appointment for some two weeks hence.
During this initial phone call I was treated with the utmost respect and professionalism, with everything explained, and "did I have any questions", etc. I don’t know about anyone else, but I am not good when it comes to discussing health over the phone, so I simply replied "yes" or "I understand" or "fine" to everything, then promptly visited the website. Here I could get all the answers and information I needed, in total anonymity, at my own pace, and without having to say a single word.
The appointment date was probably far too long in advance (i.e. more than 10 minutes), and so gave me plenty of opportunity to come up with a viable reason why I shouldn’t attend. However, I visited the website a few more times, read up on it all again, downloaded and completed the medical questionnaire, and throughout these times on line I found more reasons to go through with the appointment than to cancel.
On the day of the appointment, I smoked far too many cigarettes, tried (and succeeded) to limit my caffeine intake, worried, smoked another cigarette, looked for a reason to cancel, worried a bit more, but turned up subconsciously kicking and screaming on time and I rang the buzzer. Two seconds passed, (great I thought, no-one in, I can go now) and a friendly voice greeted me and invited me in. As I went up the stairs, I did consider (still kicking and screaming) to wedge myself against the doorframe or leave fingernail trails up the walls, but the Clinic was so clean and nicely decorated that I thought better of it.
I arrived in reception, and mumbled something along the lines of "Hi, I’m P.E., I have an appointment at 6". Then, a strange thing happened…… Nobody laughed. The receptionist didn’t laugh, the therapist didn’t laugh. Instead I was greeted courteously and professionally, and shown straight into the treatment room where I took a seat.
At this stage I still felt very nervous, and a little unsure, but was determined to be a brave girl and go through with it. Caroline looked through my completed Medical Questionnaire, tut-tutted a few times in a friendly, concerned way, and asked me some general questions about health, lifestyle, eating habits, etc. At no time did I feel the questions were too personal or "invasive", so felt fairly comfortable answering them as fully and truthfully as I could.
More important I feel were Caroline’s responses - none of them were critical, which meant a lot to me. (Yes, I know my lifestyle is far from perfect, but I don’t need constant reminding!) Caroline showed a genuine interest, and empathised with much of how I felt. Again, this meant a lot as sometimes it is all too easy to be told to "pull yourself together" when you try to explain how you feel. After some discussion, it was decided that therapy would be beneficial in my case, so Caroline went over the procedure again in simple but non-patronising terms, answered my remaining questions and concerns, regardless of how inane I felt they were, and ensured that I was completely OK with everything before proceeding.
I was asked to go off, make myself comfortable (but I’d already been before I came out), strip off and change into the standard issue gown. Actually, as gowns go it wasn’t that bad. Not exactly the latest in designer trends, but certainly better than most hospital gowns (just a shame it didn’t come in pink!) I emerged, anticipating the giggles, the comments, the embarrassment, but again - strange thing - it didn’t happen.
Instead, Caroline did her utmost to respect and protect my dignity, and succeeded. I hauled myself up on the bed, and was soon lying on my back, very comfortably (all things considered). The process started, and Caroline continually checked on my comfort levels and well being, was utterly professional throughout, but still managed to maintain a sense of "friendliness". In other words, it didn’t feel like a treatment as one would undergo (say) at the dentist or in a hospital, it was more like a treatment in a health spa. It felt good. It felt relaxing. It felt "right".
On completion of the treatment I changed out of my lovely gown (must get myself one of those for clubbing) and thought that was it - time to go home. I was wrong. Caroline didn’t desert me with a "thank you, please pay £x, bye-bye". Instead, we sat and we talked through what had gone on, how I felt, how I could help myself, how I might feel later that day, tomorrow, etc. I also realised at this stage (or reaffirmed what I already thought) that this treatment wasn’t the be-all-and-end-all cure. Sure I was a bit disappointed, but let’s face it - I’ve spent forty-odd years building up the toxins, it may take a little more time and effort to get rid of them! Maybe expecting it all to work in an hour or so was a teeny bit optimistic?
So, the upshot….
Was I worried/concerned beforehand? - Yes. A lot!
Were those worries and concerns addressed and answered in a suitable way by the Clinic? - Yes.
Was everything explained thoroughly and all questions answered before, during and after the treatment? - Yes.
Was I made to feel like I was in a totally professional, yet non-oppressive and non-critical environment? - Yes, definitely.
Would I go back for further treatments? - Yes, but only if I can have a pink gown!
